Cecily Legler Strong is a well-known American comedian and stand-up actor popular as a key actor on 'Saturday Night Live'. Her career began with theater, but was drawn to comedy at the age of nine following a course in improv. Her initial goal was to become an actress, but she realized that she had talent for comedy. Thus, her main focus shifted from acting to improv. Her career began aboard a cruise vessel, playing with fellow members of Second City Conservatory & iO Chicago. Strong performed at popular events such as Chicago Sketch Fest, the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, New York Sketchfest and Virgin Daiquiri, an all-female improv troupe. The actress became a household name in 2012 because she appeared at the end of "Saturday Night Live" during its 39th season, as a guest cast member hosting Weekend Update with Seth Meyers first, and Colin Jost later. The role of Cecily in the episode "The Girls You Wouldn't Start a Conversation With in a Party" was the most reminscent moment in her series. That same year, she debuted in film in 'How to sponsor a Uterus. She has a strong opinion against showing women as bikini models or just girlfriends but not as major characters in mainstream films.
